Torn between CZ 75B SA and SP-01

    Greetings everyone,

I am looking into getting a CZ-75 for my next gun. I was looking at the CZ 75B SA and SP-01. I was compared the two with all the different threads about both guns on the forums. I'm torn because I was looking into getting a kadet 22lr so I can do some plinking to practice my shooting technique. However, I hear good things about the SP-01 as well.

    Any advice or suggestions?

Situations like these are best solved by buying both and selling off the one that doesn't work for you. or not selling one and leaving the .22 kadet top on the 75b SA for plinking with a nice trigger. It's not like a $30k car purchase- just buy both even if you have to save up for a couple of more months.

guns grow on you. I actually hated my 75b at first. Now I'm looking for another one.

I highly recommend the SA. I ended up buying a Tactical Sport but the trigger on both is to die for.

My SP01 has been converted to SA only and feels amazing. You have options.....I say SP01.

FYI: on the CZ forum several people say they use the .22 conversion on the Sp-01.

I would say the CZ-75 because the decocker really gums things up when you want to smooth out thr connector trigger and hammer. According to my CZ smith.............Kilword

I like the size of the p-01

@OP: keep in mind weight, too. When I lift the SP-01 it screams "I am a heavy gun, hold me tight and I'll be your best friend. See how my nose doesn't wiggle?" - if I pick up my 75BD it whimpers "you've been cheating on me, haven't you? just because I jump the slide stop if you slam my mag too hard..."

ivanimal: the P-01 is next on my list. maybe.

I held a CZ83 today and I must have one. 15 days from my wait to end. Also saw a 85 I liked.

                        An 85, you say?

Ivanimal, tovarisch, where did you see a CZ85? And does she have a sister?

I've been looking for an 85 or 85 Combat.

Where are you? If you are near Chico, we could work something out for you to try mine. I've got both the SP-01 and the SA. Both have had work done to their triggers by Matt Mink.

The SA has been my IDPA ESP gun for a while, and the SP-01 is my new SSP pistol. For an all-around target/defense pistol, I'd say the SP-01. It is heavy, but recoils nicely and is very comfortable to shoot.

The SA is a great target/gaming gun.

I prefer the trigger on my SA, but the versatility of the SP.

One thing is for sure, the pistols are accurate. My SP-01 came with the factory test target showing 5 shots at 25 meters right at 1 3/8" with factory ammo- pretty impressive.

No matter what you choose, the pistol will serve you well.

I'm actually located in Orange County. So Chico would be a bit far for me :/

Kilword, chances are, i might if i'm very impressed with either CZ i pick up.
