Snakeshot / Ratshot in CA?

Does anyone know if snakeshot (ratshot) is legal in CA, and if so, which brands are best? Anyone have any experience with it?

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know the best caliber for shooting bore snakes?

Be careful shooting it out of a semi auto, have heard of the plastic caps that hold the BB's in breaking. Will most likely leave your gun inoperable, especially if its one thats hard to disassemble like a Ruger 22

Hard to beat a 12 gage with bird shot, rattlers move fast when they are disturbed.

Perfectly legal. Smoothbore or not (it's not a fixed shotshell).

CCI is the main mfg other than crimped .22LR.

Killing bore snakes!

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know the best caliber for shooting bore snakes?

To kill a bore snake all you have to do is wash it and put it in a dryer. My pal killed two of them that way...until he realized it was the dryer killing his "snakes".....
