    Ruger LC9 , anybody own one ?

I'm on my 10 day wait for an LC9 . I've read a lot of good reviews , but have also heard people complain about the safety . Does anybody out there own one that has an opinion ? I've owned a few Rugers and have never had a problem ....

If you don't like the safety don't use it, it is far enough out of the way that you can ignore it. It is very hard for you to accidentally set or release it. The thing I dislike the most is the long trigger pull and the false reset, but that is a training issue. Just when you think it will go bang it doesnt, you have to pull somemore and just when you feel the reset it isn't and you have to let go some more. Like I said before it is a training issue, once you train and get used to it, it isn't a problem. The magazine disconnect and the loaded chamber indicator do not affect performance so it is not an issue for me. I've had one for a few months and dispite its flaws I am happy with it. The only other gun I'd consider is a PF9 or CM9 but they are not on the roster.

I don't think the safety will be a problem . It sounds like I'll have to spend some time at the range to get used to the trigger pull , Oh well the things you have to do......

the tiny LC9 thumb safety has one purpose....it will take a couple a second for someone not familiar of your firearm to disengage it.

I am always looking for Beretta D models in 9mm or a Compact Type M.

If you think the trigger pull is bad on the LC9 try out an older kel-tec p-11. UGH!!. but it can hold 11 to 13 rounds flush. NTM S&W model 59 magazines.. and is very small/light.

Keep us posted on your range report and such. Id like to hear about it.
