    Colt WWI replica

Are not on the CA list of handguns; do they qualify as curio/relics?

Need to be a bit more specific, but if they are the new Colt manufacture "military issue" type then no they are not C & R. And they can not now get on since they are without the requisite mag safety & loaded chamber indicator.

Yup...forget about the WWI replica in CA unless you can get someone moving into the state to score one for you, then PPT it, or get an LEO to buy one for himself, then later PPT it to you. I think ATF can be petitioned to add it to the C&R list, it needs to be rare or deemed historically significant in some way...maybe someone with more knowledge can 'splain the process??

I can't speak to the exact process, but so far as the "curio" part of C & Rs are concerned you'll find items such as special comemmerative editions of Winchesters, Colts & such or "one of a kinds" such as Charles Lindbergh's revolver. I'd kind of doubt the Colt is going to qualify, especially if they are still being manufactured.

You never know. Colt Gold Cup National Match's are on the C&R list, and they are relatively common. There might be a chance.

Darn, I was kind of hoping it wouldn't be this hard. The AR fiasco was enough, but a 7-shot replica pistol? Man....

I assume my last choice is to roam the local gun shows?
