    Glock Frames only

i have been thinking about picking up a dedicated rimfire pistol like a 22/45

but i figured since my Sd/Hd weapon is a glock 30 sf, maybe glock or other manufacturers sell only a frame set so i can pick up an AA .22 conversion and have an entirely separate gun for cheap practice and the occasional rimfire steel matches

any thoughts about this idea? and where i can maybe find just a frame to build off of?

    thanks

ps: not sure if this should be in handguns or rimfire i apologize in advanced

Problem is, even if a handgun is on the roster, you can't buy just the frame.

I was thinking about getting a Glock frame for a .50 GI conversion, but it can't be done. The only way to buy just the frame is to DROS it as a long gun, for a Mechtech carbine kit or some such, but it would have to stay in that configuration.

"Once a rifle, always a rifle."

If you were to later add a stock Glock top end, recreating a handgun on the roster, you'd actually be creating an SBR, and all that that entails.

OP's best bet is to purchase a cheap used Glock via PPT and then sell the complete slide. I've seen complete slides sell quickly for $300-250. If you bought a Glock for $450 then sell the slide for $300-250 to get some money back then you just bought the frame for $150-200.

You can only PPT a frame.
You won't even be able to single-shot a frame by itself.
I Agree with mcat, get a complete gun and sell the upper and magazines. Although I'm not into 10mm, There are some enthusiasts who might want a 10mm upper.

lonewolf doesnt sell the 30 frame so there goes that idea

i will search online for a 30 or 29 sf

if not i can always just buy the AA conversion and throw it on my 30sf
or worst case scenario stick to plan A and just get a 22/45

              decisions decisions

              thanks everyone

Find a FFL who will build you a .22 on a Glock frame. Then do it SSE and stop worrying about it.

In his case, where he is not creating a rifle but using it for a handgun couldn't he just send the seller an existing slide/barrel and have them send it to your FFL as a complete gun?

For example. Take your Gen 2 upper half and send it to seller providing a Gen 3 lower upgrade kit. He then send a completed gun to the FFL for the DROS.

OC Armory is Good to Go...Mike is the man.!

You can buy a complete G29/30 Frame from here:

Or the SF (Short Frame) model:

(the .22 conversion kit might be frame specific; check before you buy)

Good luck and post photos when you get this build finished.!

You would have more luck selling a Glock 29 slide than a Glock 30 slide.

Nobody wants a Glock 30 slide. However, a Glock 29 slide has the advantage of accepting .40/.357 SIG and 9X25 conversion barrels.
