    Flying to Cali....

I will be flying to California soon to visit my family. I was wondering will I run into any trouble bringing my Glock. I really don't know any of the laws there I do know that handgun must be registered by new residents within 60 days, I would just like somebody to give me some info.

no mags over 10rds. unless you owned them from before the orig AW ban, correct me here guys if im worng dont want to screw over an out of stater with bad advise. otherwise you should be g2g. were you planning on CCW? not usre on any of the laws around that part though.

when driving if your concelaing the weapon it needs to be in a locked container, the trunk will count as a locked container, with the mag out of the gun, no round in the chamber.
if you just visitng no need to register.

should find a lot of the laws and what not in there, click on handguns in the contents and everything you need to known should be there.

And also, can you have a empty mag in the gun in a locked case, with the other empty mags in the case, or is that considered "loaded".

Empty mag in magwell + no round in chamber = unloaded. Do not carry it on your person while in CA. CA does not give reciprocity to any other state's CCW. You nay transport it in a locked container in a vehicle as long as it is unloaded.

Also in order to bring in any mags over 10 rds you must have possessed that actual mag IN CALIFORNIA before the ban went into effect (2000). It is not enough to have owned the mag before then if it was never in CA. The fact that you are just visiting does not matter.

Shouldn't it be pre- 1994 since the Fed ban was in place and you'd have to break that law if you picked one up 'just before' 2000?
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.
