Bronze Brush on Bore

.22lr bores are zinc alloy or pot-metal?
That's news to me.
Sometimes you'll get alloy frames, but the bores are always sleeved with steel, if not completely steel.
If a bronze brush is going to hurt the bore, then firing a copper-clad bullet through it at 500-3000fps is going to hurt it more.- Rich

Pot metal bores/barrels. That's a new one in my book too. I think i'd rather pack a pipe gun. Much safer imo.
I think u should use the stainless steel brushed becuz it wont rust your barrel. Lol. J/k. Use only brass or nylon brushes.Last edited by m98; 06-18-2011, 1:02 AM."Screw U guys, I'm going home"...:the great Eric Cartman

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too.
I think I've heard of some competition bullseye shooters saying they don't like brass brushes, but I've never understood that, either. (Maybe I'm just dense but I don't see how a brass brush will damage a bore.)Comment
