    Springfield XD-9mm average OTD price

    Hey guys,
I'm interested in purchasing my first handgun and was offered a Springfield XD-9mm for 630 OTD (includes tax, handgun cert., & DROS fees).
Was also offered the Beretta 92FS for 740 OTD. They also had the Beretta 92FS M9A1 in stock for a bit more.
Am I getting stiffed or is this the normal price for these handguns in Cali.?
Guys were pretty down to earth I won't complain... Explained to me that if I was to buy online (Buds etc.) that I'd have to pay around 80 in transfer fees not mentioning applicable taxes on the gun as well as cert. and DROS fees. What do you all think?

    Depends on model and extras.
Would I personally pay that much? No.
That's why I got one used with low round count for 200 hundred less.

      Where are you located?
I've seen XD service (not compact and not XDm) going for $450-$530 before tax/dros/cert so you are not getting stiffed, but if you do your shopping right, you can do a PPT for a bit under $500 OTD with dros/cert but then you are taking the risk that the used gun does not have any hidden problems and you may lose the Springfield lifetime warranty (states it is for the original purchaser).

Thanks for the prompt response. I'm located in Burbank. 630 - $50 (DROS/Cert.)... So he's giving me the gun for 580 (w/ tax). Comes out to be 530 before taxes so I am paying on the higher end.

He did say I could pick from 3 different color variations as well so I don't know if that's necessarily a plus ...

Nah, you can get a brand new XD 9 for under $500 easily down in soCal. Up here in norcal, I've seen NIB xd's for $449.99. Be patient and look around.
          Good luck!

Try searching on Gun Genie and see what the local area Dealers are charging http://www.gungenie.com/ Sometime the deal through Gun Genie (Davidson) is better than buying off the Dealers shelf.

I got mine from Buds about 2 years ago. I want to say it was $430 or so. Add $100 for the DROS and you're still in better shape...

If you want a good deal, check out the classifieds here. You can easily get a barely used example with accessories, night sights, and the like for well under $500.

Sorry, I just looked back and I was wrong. I was quoted that back in October but it was without tax or DROS. My bad.

they try to steer you clear of online shopping and feed you bull****

fact is, online is cheaper. i used buds, and i saved a lot. i would recommend buds to anyone. fast and easy service.
