SRT on SIG P226

I just had a SRT (Short Reset Trigger) installed on my P226. Besides the thin-ness of the new trigger, it feels the same. Now I've been made aware that I should have had a short reset sear installed as well. Where can I get this special sear?
I purchased my SRT from MidWayUSA.com and they do not sell the sear.

you are confusing the two products with your description.

their is the short trigger and a short reset trigger.

the short trigger is a trigger that is less thick. its a geometry difference so people have short finger can reach. it have nothing to do with the trigger reset.

a short reset trigger have nothing to do with the actual trigger. two parts are needed which is SRT safety lever and SRT sear. both SRT safety lever and sear are not interchangeable with the regular safety lever and sear.

so judging from your description, you only have the short trigger not the SRT. also, i think TGS and OMB express no longer sell SRT kits to public.

I have the SRT installed on both my Sigs. It has NOTHING to do with the actual thickness of the trigger itself. The SRT allows you to follow up a shot with 60% less travel, allowing you to shoot faster. What you have is just a short/thinner trigger for smaller hands.

SIG Charge $100, not including shipping to install SRT trigger parts in you gun and lead-time could be several weeks for installation.

Last time SIG said it can only be install by them, as there are some other process other than just replace the parts. However true that is I have no idea. Even certified armorer cannot order them. On the other hand LE department can order them from SIG so I find that contradicting with their own statement.

The bold part confuses me. How did you come to this conclusion? What problem does it solve on Sigs?

Bingo. To make the differentiation very clear my armorers class used the phrase "SRT" and "Anorexic Trigger" very distinctly.

Sig has come down on many armorers and dealers for selling SRT parts. I will sell the parts and install them free, but I cannot just sell the parts.

Not true. Any armorer can order SRT parts.

OP - when you do an SRT job, it is NOT just the SRT sear that needs to be installed. Depending on the gun you might also swap the decocking lever as well - but generally the SRT job swaps the sear and the safety lever. The safety lever on the SRT's are a LOT easier to install than the tradtional DA/SA and DAK safety lever. I love doing SRT jobs as the armorer exam gun was a DAK and I had a tough time grasping the concept.

SIG cut us off as they claim they are the only one that can install the SRT kits. we ordered 5 P220 kits and 10 P226/229 kits and they won't ship more to us after all were sold and installed on-site. Last time I called, SIG asked which department I worked for. Since I am not working for LE they won't sell it to me. So unless there is a policy change recently, either you got connection or you are working for LE thus you are able to order it. Of course if any armorer can order it now, I welcome the change.

BTW, the armorer exam gun I went through was an old stamp-steel slide P220 with standard DA/SA trigger. It was fun having to fish out parts to built you gun with enough parts to built 21 guns in that pelican case. took me 15 min to get it done.

I dont think it was recent - I order SRT parts regularly as an armorer that is not working for LE.

And yes - the EXTRA LARGE parts bin is rather intimidating. My instructor did not do this but I have heard of others giving you ONE TRIP only to the pelican case to get parts.

When that happens - don't be the last person. I got as many trips as I wanted, but I was near the end of the class and the parts I needed simply weren't there so I had to raid the instructor's parts bin to finish my gun. We still have no idea how people lost that many sear pins.
