The TLE II is a really solid choice. If the store I purchased my Kimber from had that model available at the time there is a very good chance I would have ended with up with a TLE. The only difference between the TLE II and the Custom II, I believe is the TLE's front hand strap checkering and the Meprolight night sights that come stock.
Personally I couldn't care less about the front of my grip being checkered or not, if I want an unbeatable grip I'd just slap a Hoag wrap-around on it.
As for the night sights...I personally feel they make the gun feel MUCH more accurate, especially on a standard indoor range where the lighting is somewhat dim and the targets you're shooting at are most likely black or other dark colors.
After just purchasing my Custom II, I can tell you that I will DEFINITELY be adding some type of aftermarket sites. It's pretty much between Meprolight night sights or target sights with fiber optics in the front/rear(Kimbers target sights only have the dot on the front sight i believe, correct me if I am wrong.)
Good luck man, and no matter what you decide to get you can always add or take off accessories, that's the beauty of 1911's!
