Choose my next gun

Im looking to buy a new firearm Monday and cannot choose.

Ruger SR9 - I love the grip angle (like a 1911), trigger pull was good for me. I was moderately accurate with it, but like with anything practice makes perfect, and I love the price point.

Springfield XD9 - Love the ergos on it, trigger pull was a bit long but I have a Ruger SP101 so I am use to it, my girlfriend loves it especially of the grip safety.

Smith and Wesson M&P9 - Sadly I have not actually tested this one but I do like the interchangeable back straps and reliability of Smith and Wesson. Have heard good things but will sadly have to go on a limb with this one if selected.

All three are good firearms - I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I'd pick the one that feels best to you, and if possible shoot all three side by side.

M&P, mainly cause it's not a complete Glock knock off

I'm partial to the Ruger, but if the girlfriend likes the Springfield, well, that might mean something.

I just bought an m&p9. Great gun. I wanted a gun similar to a glock (which I already own one) but I wanted an American made gun and a gun with a better grip angle than the glock. (IMO) Only choice for me was S&W.

I have heard great things about the sr9. It is the cheapest out of the 3 by about $100. If they are anything like the p series then they are good to go in my book.

I do not like the ergos on the XD nor do I like the look. I have only held one in a store before. No help for you there.

Just my input. Get the M&P or SR9.

Of those three, if I had to choose - I'd get the M&P 9. But, I've also shot the SR9 and was very impressed by how accurate it was for the money.

Get the 1911, which is what you really want. M&P.

Of the three the sr9 doesn't fit my hand at all. I really wanted too buy a sr9 but every time I held one at the store, it felt awkward. They are so cheap that I might just say screw it and buy one in the future. I highly recommend the m&p, my compact is so accurate I picked up a full size today.

OP, go shoot them. Don't go by how it feels in your hand. The best shooting gun isn't always the best feeling. Sometimes it is. The only way to tell is a range trip with rentals. You may be completely surprised at which gun you favor.

SR9 and M&P9 are both nice. SR9 is very comfortable and so is the M&P9. I shot both but was more accurate with the M&P 9. The SR9 was 4th on my list of handguns to get.

I'll say SR9, I have one and love shooting it. I did have a M&P45 yes a larger caliber but the same frame it was a good gun but just not for me. Be careful if you get the SR because soon after comes the SR9c (great little shooter) and then the SR40. As said already handle and shoot each one if you can then make your decision.

I'm a glock shooter because all other polymer pistols have a striking similarity internally to glocks but of those listed the M&P9. Not to step on anyones toes but I don't like manual safety on the SR9 other than that I think it is a fine polymer frame pistol though. I do like the thin 1911 feel to the handle and grip angle.

The slide serrations on the XD's make it look more like a toy than a workhorse, and I've always been offended by the essentials package it comes with. It seems like a marketing deal and always rubbed me wrong. also seems to have a very high bore axis so I've never much liked the muzzle flip...or maybe it is in my head.

I've only shot a M&P 40 sub compact and side by side with my G27... it made me sell my G27 much more comfortable and far less felt recoil much better for me to shoot, it actually handled better than my G17's the stock trigger was awsome too. I cant imagine the M&P 9 being worse. I've always head good things about the m&p.

Enough with the gibberish if I was in your boat in the market for a polymer pistol I'd be looking hard at the M&P. By go out on a limb do you mean the money is hard? If thats the case wait a bit pinch pennies and buy what you want rather than rush and be unhappy with your purchase and be wanting to sell it. I've been in that boat, it's no fun just hold out for what you want.
