    Which USP to get?

I have owned a USP45 Expert, USP45c and P2000 9mm in the past. I've long since sold them all. I enjoyed every HK I owned except for the price. I am now wanting to own a USP fullsize. I have shot the fullsize USP40 and liked it a lot. With that said, I know the USP was designed around the .40S&W cartridge which seems to be obvious choice. This gun will just be to add to the collection with range use and possible home defense. The dilemma is, I didn't care for the.40. all I have now stockpiled are 9mm's and .45's. So as much as I want the .40, I am torn. The .45 is my favorite caliber and is now drawing me to go USP45. And I also love the 9mm for how fun it is and cheap to shoot. So I ask you friends if you were to get one only USP to own, which one would you choose?

I chose the 9mm but only due to having a pile of prebans. If stuck with kal-neutered 10's I'd opt for the .45. Both are fine pistols (as you know)! Good luck with the choice!

    WTB used AK MFER.

What calibers do you already own? Do you already own a 9 and .45?

I owned a USP in .40 and it was a great gun. I really wish I could get another one but if I did it would be the 9mm only because it's cheap as far as ammo goes.

My vote would be for the 9mm. That platform and the 9mm round is a great combo. My buddy has the .40 and it has quite a bit more snap than any other .40 I have tried. Not sure why but I did not like it. Have not tried the .45 but I had an Expert which was fun but the grip was not to my liking. Just use to 1911's and Glocks I guess.

I would go with the Expert in .45 without a doubt.

I have 2 Experts, 1 in 40 1 in 45. 1 Elite and 1 Tactical both in 45s. I like 45s... for the size of the gun 45 just seemed more appropriate. But I'd love to have 1 in 9mm.

Which ever you choose, make sure it's a higher end model like Expert, Elite or Tactical. Just watch out for Tactical's high sights, not many holsters will fit.

The USP 45 is awesome. Why not, ammo prices? I think it's worth it.

I had the Expert45. It was a real nice shooter. But honestly, I didn't care much for it and preferred the regular USP45 fs better. I just want alain Jane fullsize USP. I own many 9mm and .45 but no .40. I own MP45 which is my favorite polymer 45 more than a USP. And P220ST which is my
Favorite .45 along with my 1911. On the 9mm I have only a P226 and P225. I sold my G17 and P2000 both regretful. I'm also thinking of getting a stainless P226 instead of a USP.

I went with the .40, and have no regrets.

I own a USP 40c, it's one of my "go to" guns - it's suitable for the "spot" its kept in and for that reason I like it - but as a compact, its kinda bulky and not at all ideal for cc (if that is ones intent).

I prefer the full size for comfort and general shoot-ability - .40 recoil is snappy in general - the short barrel of the compact makes it more so.

I'd recommend a .40 full size (and if I didnt already have a USP, that's what I'd get).

I'd go .45 or 9mm stainless. If you go 40 might as well go .45. If you prefer better target acquisition go 9mm.

grip on .45 is slightly beyond perfect for me... .40 is ideal... I have a .45 M&P (but even in that pistol .40 is much more comfortable)... I dont have "small" hands - but even for average size, USP .45 is a bit bulkier than .40

.40 to 9mm is the same though. (frame and grip, not caliber).

Since it hasnt been mentioned yet...It isn't on your list, but have you considered the HK45 or HK45C? Designed as .45, and evolution of the USP. If I could only get one, it would be either of these with a preference to the full-size unless it would be for concealed carry (then it would be the Compact).
