Then the only thing to do is to decide on the brand you like and your budget. Should be a fun process.

you can either hold the plunger down with a small flat tip screwdriver or the like as you push the slide stop down, or place a thin card (calling card, playing card, etc...) between the slide stop and frame as you swing the slide stop in place.

I like to use an old guitar pick.

Shooters are usually well used, loose fit, with scratches. Don't buy from people put their 1911 on concrete. Wear in the magwell area will give you a good idea of usage. Always expect more than the round count the seller is claiming. Ask for pictures. Guns selling with holsters usually have holster wear. Safe queens are what I like!
