    Gen 4s trustable yet??

I heard the gen 4 springs were fixed with the 04 springs... This kind of put some doubts back into if the gen 4s are ready yet to be called a "true reliable glock" to me..

What do you guys think? Do you think they are up to par to hold up the glock name yet??

For the most part, yes. Only issues that haven't been really ironed out it seems is erratic extraction patterns on certain guns. From what I've read, this is mostly due to their general switch over to MIM to manufacturing their extractors. I have a new G34 that came with one of these extractors that spit out brass in all sorts of crazy directions. The final straw for me though was when hot brass burned beneath my eye because brass flew up and dropped between my glasses and face. The problem has been 100% resolved after I replaced it with a Lone Wolf extractor. Now my gun ejects consistently strong towards the right.

My GEN 4 G21 & GEN 4 G17 have both been flawless. Both have fired Ranger T +P, WWB, Federal Champion and my IDPA reloads.

I've noticed the same thing and the gen3s have been proven. I like the new features but if these new glocks can't take the brunt or be reliable as the gen3 I don't want one. If it's not going to feed in mud or water I'll get a 1911. Or a gen 3 for my HD. I'm not depending my life on a it should work.

I wouldn't automatically count any gun reliable. Every gun you should be test fired regularly and if something is not going according to plan.. either fix it yourself or get someone else to. I would treat Gen 3 and 4 the same.

The Sig P229 in 9mm(Which everyone says is inferior to the 228) puts the gen 4s to Shame..

There have been no reported problems with the .40S&W, .357SIG, .45GAP and .45ACP Gen4 Glocks.
There have been some reported problems with the early run 9x19mm Gen4 Glocks.

A LEO on M4Cnet had been doing a T&E on the Glock 22Gen4 for his LE agency. So far, he has never cleaned it and has 2600 rounds through it with no malfunction/stoppages.

                        Exactly...

                        Which is why I own (3) GEN 4's, (6) GEN 3's & ZERO Sig P229's

Thanks for that post but i still want to see it done with a 9mm. Like you said all the said problems seem to be from the 9mm versions of the gen 4s

The Gen4, if it has the 04 spring, should be fine for the lesser calibers. The larger calibers were already fine. The nice thing about the Gen4's is they're very coveted right now, so if you don't like it you can sell it right away without worry.

Do you plan on going out every day and depend your life on it? Are you going to run the gun at least 500 rounds a week?

I know its assuring to see an individual torture test, but that gun is not going to be your gun. You can get a good or bad one out of the draw depending on your luck and I think chances are to your favor to get a good one (I've personally not seen a bad Gen 4, only heard/seen of em online). Otherwise.. the question asked now is kinda moot and you pretty much have to wait at least half a decade to see the widespread-type test you're looking for. Most people will also not depend on/run the gun like I mentioned before (myself included, I do not work in a line of work that requires carry and I might run 250 rounds a week). So its up to you to decide if you're willing to take the chance now yourself on the gun. Most importantly, you have to test your individual gun yourself consistently.
