So I understand Kimber has a new polymer DAO pistol coming out in .40S&W (followed at some point by a 9mm variant). Looks like it'll be competing with Glock and the XD.
Saw an ad for it in the latest SWAT magazine. Did a little Google-fu for it and didn't come up with much. One thing I did notice in the print ad was that it has a magazine disconnect safety..... Guessing Kimber will be one of the first manufacturers to get a new gun on the "Kali Approved List".

The new Kimber KPD .40 is a marvel of simple and safe operation. Ideal for law enforcement, concealed carry or home defense, the KPD is light, easily maintained, tough and absolutely dependable. Equally important it is thin, and with the three included interchangeable backstraps the KPD can be instantly fit to any size hand so it aims naturally and instinctively.
Point and shoot simplicity makes training easy, and the KPD is also incredibly safe to carry and store.
All operating safeties are internal, allowing the pistol to fire only if the trigger is pulled completely through the travel path. Safe storage is ensured by an internal lock as well as a magazine safety disconnector. An integral Picatinny rail for flashlight mounting and a stainless steel slide with premium KimProII finish are standard.
Like all Kimber pistols, the KPD is manufactured entirely in America. Kimber quality. Rugged innovation. Unbeatable price.
