I was told that I would have to disassemble the hi cap. mag B -4 returning to this state of California ........This is why I started a new thread to see what the biggest mag is for a ( 1911 .45acp ).Read my response in your original post...

You realize that hardly anything over 10 is reliable right? Not to mention bulky and impractical.WTS all BNIB: Colt S70 Repro, HK45c, Gen4 G19Comment

But the point is you can not resemble it back into a hicap. That's manufacturing and is a felony. Read the post I linked originally.
Unless you already legally own a hicap and are using this to rebuild it. Then you are good to go.
If not you can bring a rebuild kit into the state and build it into a 10 round, but that totally defeats why you are looking for the largest capacity...
Search around, read and learn for your self before you ask things that have been asked 1,000 times.Comment

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"Comment

I've seen long single-stacks -- one was 40 something or so rounds made by welding 2 or more long magazines together. It didn't feed well and was way too long and clumsy to be useful.
Forty round drums from Promag (25 round too, I think) are available -- they don't work.
Nobody I know uses mags over 10 rounds because of issues with dependability. I know people who still use only 7 round mags in 1911s because they don't trust anything over that to work. They usually only have one brand they will use too (like Wilson Combat or Ed Brown mags).
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.
