It's been a while, but there are some interesting youtube vids where some DB380owners figured out what was causing some of the problems and how to fix them. You might want to check them out. I remember one where the guy fixed his trigger reset problem with an easy, yet logical fix.

In the meantime, don't hesitate to send it back to Diamondback if all else fails. They are supposed to have excellent service. I really want to see these things work, no matter who owns them...I like the design concept that much. It just sucks that you have to send a lot of .380 downrange to test it each time.

Keep the faith and good luck. Keep us posted. I had a very similar episode with my Kahr MK-40 back in the day. It took a lot of work, patience and effort to get it 100% But once I did, it was so worth it.

RLW, how much is it for a second class citizen of Cali to get a DB380 in their hands -- after reconversion and everything else? Just a ballpark. And the same question for the DB9.

A quick check shows Glock makes a model 25 and 28 in .380.
The 25 is the same size as a 19, the 28 is larger.
No need for an oversize .380 in the US market, these are made for markets where civilians cannot own military calibers.

A pocket-pistol sized .380 by Glock for the US market would certainly be a good seller, but US laws would stop importation.
So we have the US made DB380 to fill in the gap.

        .

The DB380's I have done have been the EXO finish and the price is $400 delivered. The standard black I think is about $15 less. You would have to ship the parts back, but that can be done through the post office for less than $5.

The DB9 looks like its about $30 more, but I never like to say for sure until I see them in stock with my distributors as I have seen prices change a few times on guns before they were ever in stock. There are some DB9's out there, but i have never seen them at my distributors. I bought mine from Buds.

He estimated the failures occurred around 10% of the time (one or the other) and obviously made the gun unacceptable for its design use.

As I said, I really hope you get this thing to work. But I don't think you can count on it for CCW, even if it goes for numerous rounds without a failure...too many people have been having the same problems. It could make a good project gun though. What have you decided to do with it?
So, was this a video/review where he actually shot the gun, or just another one of his "It looks nice, I bet it shoots nice too, but I'm not going to shoot it" reviews?

No, he shoots the hell out of two: his first and then his replacement. He's an odd kind of guy that some people hate on, but personally I think he is harmless and his videos are valuable. They are long and windy, but I like thoroughness. He is fair and honest too. Go check him out. Beware that you may be annoyed with his tactical format, but you'll get used to it. At least he is self-effacing.

Thanks Ryan...so 400 out the door to my house (after all the legal BS), you think? I've been looking at the single shot thing for a while, but have yet to do it...I keep coming across stuff brought here anyway. But if DB gets their act together, I may have to consider it. Until then, I have to assume any DB I get will likely be a project gun -- which is fine, except I don't want to pay a lot for a gun with problems of which I have to work out. The DB9 may be a better option in that regard.

I've watched a lot of his videos, and outside of his term "POU" (which I can't stand), I've found that his videos are marginal when it comes to information. What did it was when he reviewed an Emerson knife and complained about the chisel grind. I've had my Emerson for 13 years and I love the grind and everything else about it. He even called the knife too heavy. I've carried my Emerson every single day for 13 years and I don't even know it's there anymore.

Lastly, he's done reviews on guns he hasn't shot. How can you do this? That's right, you can't!

You're right of course. But in the case of the DB380, he actually did shoot it a lot. I would expect that if he had multiple problems, then that is a microcosm (sp) of what one should expect from them.

Because at this point, he just loves hearing himself talk so much he cant get out and shoot.

It would be $400 delivered to your FFL. I would have no control over what he would charge.
