    Gen ? G20 10mm

Just picked up this G20 in trade.

Any idea what gen it is? I dont know if it is a Gen 1 or Gen 2.

Got it from original owner who has had it in the gun safe for the last 15+ years. He couldnt remember if he purchased it in 1990, 1991 or 1993. Serial is APYXXX

Is it worth any more than the amounts I see on the classifieds for Gen 3's?

    Thanks in advance.

    Gen 2, possibly Gen 2.5 3-pin model.

I have a Gen 3 and mine has the finger grooves on the grip, so I think you have a Gen 1 based on the original purchase date. Are you going to sell or trade it? Why not just keep it and shoot it? There aren't too many 10mm handguns on the approved list.

Edit: I yield to the gentleman with the scary looking airplane avatar. If he says it's Gen 2, then it's likely he right.

        That is a Gen 2 Glock 20.

The Glock 17 and 19 (ultra rare) were the only Glocks available as Gen 1.

the only APY serial number listed on Glock talks Glock Serial Number Research Project

http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1287557 its where I date my used Glocks when I am looking to buy them, seems that they do not have your serial number dated yet, other than some guys stolen one..

I just looked at that about 30 min ago. Mine is APY9XX.

            So definitely a Gen 2.

I am going to call Glock and see if I can pin down the exact manufacture date.

            Thanks for the responses all.

              Those are good weapons

Yours appears to be about late 1993, early 1994.

I prefer the GEN 2 frames because with no finger grooves it's easier to hold onto for me

It's a keeper; pimp it out for a Car-Weapon. I had one, gave it to a friend in the mid 90s, he Pawned it when he got divorced. (arrgg)...but I kept one of my 1992 Glock 21s (same exact frame and internals) just because I love the Gen 2 platform so much.
