    glock barrel

    Hi,
I'm planning to get a new barrel for my glock so I can shoot coated bullets. Jacket bullets are expensive. Anyway, I have seen KKM and EFK barrels available, and was wondering if others have experiences with these aftermarket barrels. I'm planning to keep to the stock length and configuration. Thanks.

Jarvis also makes barrels for Glock. I have had one on my G20 for about 8 or so years now. No complaints, shoots great. Would I do it again, probably.

KKM Precision makes freakin' sweet barrels. No fitting, drop in, but extremely tight.

        What caliber you shoot?

I actually shoot hardcast lead in my G19 factory barrel all the time with no problems, regardless of what the internet says about Glocks blowing up due to lead bullets. I think the key is to go with the heavier bullets and slower burning powders to keep velocities low. The leading I have after ~20 rounds is about the same as what I have after ~200 rounds. And to clean it I just run a dry bore snake through it and it scrapes most of the lead out. Dunno if I would try this in .40 though as it seems there is less margin for error.

I have a 10mm Glock 20 and it's the accuracy that is the problem. With jacketed bullets, everything is OK, but with cast or coated bullets, I miss more than usual. Some of the holes are keyholes and not round. I have heard stories of not shooting cast bullets from stock glock barrels, but I haven't had any leading problems, just the bullets not flying straight enough.
