Springfield XD sights

I just got some dawson precision sights in and I went to a local gunsmith to have them put in. He told me he can't do it and I have to send it in to springfield. I than called other places "Bolsa gunsmithing, and ade's gun shop, orange county ca" and they said they CAN do it.
My question is, would I be better off shipping it out? Or does anyone with an XD have any experience with those shops? I rather not deal with shipping a gun/slide if its not totally necessary. I'm in Anaheim, orange county

Call up springer precision (not springfield)

A lot of shops wont touch XDs because the sights are put in VERY tightly.

Yeah, XD sights are notoriously tight and this is not the first I've heard of a smith refusing to work on them. I would just send the slide to Springfield or Springer myself.

I changed mine out with a sight pusher. no problem there.

You only need to send the slide. That saves a lot of hassle.
