I was gonna say the same thing- $35 on Amazon for a nice 150 Lumen light by Fenix with double A batteries

USA: Surefire G3 LED 120 lumens for around $65. Add the optional P91 bulb for 200 lumens.

CHINA: 4 Sevens- too many models to list. Excellent for for the money, if you don't mind Chinese manufacture. Very nice are the the Preon1 and Preon2, little penlights that are brighter than hell.

Streamlight Polytac HP. Got mine from gunkings.com for around $40 with shipping. Simple on/off tail cap. US made. Very bright and lots of throw. Used it for a low-light pistol class and it worked great. Just as bright if not brighter than what anyone else was using.

Costco, get a few packs and scatter them all over the house and cars..
Solid housing, 2 brightness settings and strobe. Not bad for the price.

For the money, another vote for the Costco 3-pack tactical LED flashlight. It was on sale for $15 (yes, $15 for 3 lights.)

$60 flashlights? Really?

Every Christmas Home Depot sells a 10 pack of LED flashlights for around $10. They are not even worth replacing the AAA batteries when they die which is like almost never given normal occasional use.

"Tactical" means the button is on the back right?

So I have a whole bunch of "tactical" flashlights !!!

I got the Costco 3pak as well. Great lights and very bright for the price. However, be aware of a few downsides.
- Quick flash setting (I forget the term) where you want to illuminate the target then release the button to turn it off, is effectively useless. When you press and hold, it takes a second for it to go on into this mode. There is a work-around by press the button quickly twice and holding it, which will go into the lower lumen mode, then step up to the brighter mode after a split second.
- First button push goes into lower lumen mode. Then you have to step through to get brighter then strobe. Not great for quick on/off or to get to strobe quickly.
- You have to remember all those clicks and do them quickly under stress.
- The button is very easily pushed, possibly enabling it to go on in your pocket or bag and draining the batteries or lighting you up.

So, not really a true 'tactical' flashlight but a great value for around the house.

I have one of these... $30, 3 watt LED, Really nice machined alloy body, push button back w/ momentary or steady on, takes 2 standard AA batteries, and lifetime warranty. I love it and think it was a great buy. In fact I might just buy another one.

No disrespect intended but I'm amazed at how many everyday items have gone 'tactical' . Makes me laugh.. Anyway, take a look at the Coleman lights. Cree LEDs and within your price range. Go to Overstock.com you may be able to get two for your $60.
