I can shoot pretty good with my 9mm Beretta, 40 P226 and 9x18 Makarov. But for life of me I can not shoot 1911. I have a Colt Combat commander and I barelly hit the paper at 25 yards. I rented Les Baer TRS and the same there. Can barelly hit the paper at 25 yards. Is there a trick in shooting a 1911 (45 cal of course)

Yes, there is a trick. You need to align the sights on target, while focusing on the front sight and squeeze the trigger so that you don't disturb your sight alignment.
Shooting pistols is simple, its just not easy."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark" -
Get rid of the Commander. I will give you $100.00 for it,cash tomorrow.
J/K, like others have said, you need to practice more. I taught a ex-girlfriend to shoot my full size 1911. In less than 50 rounds she was hitting the black on an bulls eye target at 10yrds. She had never shot a handgun before. In addition because she was new to shooting, she had no bad habits.
I can, and have seen others do it,shoot a 1911 with 3 fingers. Just practice,you'll get there.Comment
