I bought a brand new one this year with no problem (Stainless Steel Mil-Spec). The best thing to do is to check the DOJ website for the list of approved pistols. You can search by brands.

Come on, don't be lazy: Go to Springfield's website (www.springfield-armory.com) and look up the gun then go to the DOJ's website (http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/) and look it up to see if it's certified for sale here.

It is on the list. Atleast the blue one is, I was looking at them the other day.

AFIAK both the blue and the stainless Mil Specs are on the list.

although the blue one is 9108LP on the SA website and the SS is 9151LP, but the DOJ lists 9108L and 9151L, respectively, FWIW.

For everyone trying to determine if something is on the approved list, this is how you do it.

                I'll assume you're completely clueless.

Step 1.) Go to the website of the manufacturer and locate the model #
                In this case: http://www.springfield-armory.com/armory.php?model=7
                PB9108LP for Parkerized
                PB9151LP for Stainless

Step 2.) Go to the DOJ Roster and determine if the gun is there

                PB9108L / Carbon Steel Pistol 5" .45 ACP 2/8/2008
                PB9151L / Stainless Steel Pistol 5" .45 ACP 3/19/2008

                Step 3.) Buy gun.

                Step 4.) rinse.

                Step 5.) repeat.

You can call Springfield or DOJ, if you don't like the internet.

Regardless, it's not hard, so please, just use the proper tools.
