    USP45 FULL SIZE

Another objective look at FULL SIZE USP45. How does it compare with other modern full size 45 service pistols. ( w/o 10 round limit, pretend we are not in Ca)

I like them.... but I am not a striker fan. I like the fit, the feel, the recoil nature. I like DA/SA Hammer Fired, safety and decocker are nice as well. *shrug*

    YMMV
...but their exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom.

I love the way they look and that you can carry them locked and cocked, but the trigger pull left some to be desired, IMO.

USPs have a hammer... I like the erganomics, it has feels solid like a full metal, it has a smooth slide release, the decocker is pretty nifty.

With the V1 trigger pack (and couple of the other trigger packs) it can be carried cocked and locked with a major plus.

Or, like mine, carried with one in the chamber, no external safety lever, with the 4.5# LEM trigger. Sweet trigger, very accurate, amazingly dependable. Worth the price!

I carry a USP40 and don't like it... All the malfunctions aside (combination of age, ammo and mags), I know its a good weapon, but I just don't care for it. The safety and decock is a good idea, but it's in the wrong spot for me... I often have it partially decocked, which won't allow it to fire. You might say training issue, but at least 10k rounds through it I still do it off and on. Another issue I have... The grip is not big enough... I have to kick out my pinky, and part of my ring finger on reloads...

That being said, I say shoot one under stress and use it like it should be used... If you like it, get one. You can never go wrong with shooting as many as you can.

                I've owned a USP 45 fullsize for 14 years.

It is the most reliable pistol I own. It has never had a malfunction that wasn't due to ammo or the shooter.

My only grip is the "craptastic" trigger. I'm getting a match trigger installed to address that one weak point.

I love the H&K usp in 45 acp .I have four of them. The Match ,Expert,Standard and Socom. The high cap mags are only twelve rounds ,that is factory.so no big deal in high caps.Easy to clean and take apart. The only jams I had where with my reloads.

USP isn't a striker fired pistol. Has a hammer, and has a lot of variants. Decocker/safety, decocker only, safety only, left sight controls, right side controls, etc.

I just did my paperwork for a full sized USP45 last Thursday, will get to shoot it this Friday. The grip feels chunky, but not quite as chunky as a Glock 21. DA trigger pull is incredibly heavy and kinda crap, SA is decent at best. I'll have to see how the gun actually shoots before I can describe more about it though.
