Making a Trade ?

I want to make a trade, Pistol for Pistol.
The Gentleman I will be trading with lives in the Midwest.
What is the best way to handle the transaction.
Is it mostly a trust thing. Do I have my FFL ship my Pistol to his FFL and hope he ships his to my FFL.
I already have an FFL to do the shipping & receiving for me.
Those that have done this please Advise

Not a laws question so I figured since this is where the trading goes on this would be the best place.

Your FFL dealer ships to his FFL dealer is the safe way to do it. Once I had a rifle shipped to my FFL from a private party, everything was fine but with a pistol I would ship through a FFL dealer to be safe.

Have the two FFL's.. yours and the person from the Midwest, coordinate things with each other. Have your FFL hold the gun and not ship until they hear from the other FFL that they have the gun in their possession and are ready to ship.

That what's worked for me in the two trades I've done.
