    S&W 29-4

I own one with 8 3/8" full underlug barrel, unfluted cylinder, and hogue grips. Just wondering about collectability and maybe value. I bought it NIB several years ago, nad have put 500+ rounds through it. (Paid $410 Reno gun show)

Not a collectors item yet and probably not for a while. I am guessing you could get about $650 for it if its in real nice shape.

I recently sold mine, a 29-5, in perfect condition, box, papers, etc . for 850.00.

Buyer is thrilled, says it's the best shooter he's got !

The 29-4 came out in 1988. Most collectors seek pre '82 revolvers with pinned barrels, and recessed cylinders on a magnum chambering.
You have a great target and hunting .44 magnum, though the barrel is longer than I personally prefer.
It is more desirable than the newer revolvers with the internal lock.

Keep it! Revolver shooting is making a comeback!

Collectability... not yet. Keep the box, papers and tools together and that helps down the road. As Mickey D noted pinned and recessed on these guns is most desirable.

As described above I'd think $600-$900 depending on where you happen to be, who you are dealing with and how the revolver checks out on examination. I saw a minty 629 no dash 8 3/8 inch at a recent gun show and that was tagged at $950. Didn't see it move, but that price was likely in the ballpark.

            It's definitely a shooter, I've hit disposeable propane cylinders a 100yds.
