Well i been out riding my dirtbike pretty much on BLM land...how can i open carry a handgun while im riding my dirtbike. I wear a camelback and can put it in there unloaded with the mags in another pouch but i am unsure. What would you carry with you and how is my question ???? I somehow seem to stumble upon every meth lab available in antelope valley and would fell much more comfortable carrying one of my firearms JUST IN CASE!!!!

How to open carry/what to while dritbike riding

how about mounting holster on the bike frame?USMC 95-99 -
If you are on a designated road you cannot legally be loaded. You are not allowed to shoot on roads so this triggers the "prohibited area" language of PC 12031. The easiest legal way to carry when riding is to UOC with ammo close at hand. If you know that you absolutely won't be on any roads, then you can also LOC.

Not sure but if you put it in your pack even unloaded would be concealed therefore would need to be locked in some fashion. Uoc is openly in holster but not in a camelpac, backpack, ect to my understanding. Mounting a holster to the bike would ne the only logical answer as wearing one on you person would be uncomfortable while riding.Comment

Mudcamper said it best! When I am out on a trail (not a designated road) I will open carry loaded. Just remember as soon as you get to a designated road, to change up your method of carry!
Granted if you are like me any place I Camp/ride, I do not have this problem.NRA MEMBERComment

Shoulder holster? Tanker style shoulder holster?sigpic United States Air Force Security ForcesComment

im defintely liking the shoulder holster that aint a bad idea at all and i can carry my cambelback at the sametime. im also definately debating mounting a nice holster somewhere on the bike to hold the pistol and then store the mags in my pack. my problem with that is it would have to be a damn secure holster on the bike and on top of that id be checking it every five seconds to make sure its still there as opposed to the shoulder holster i would notice a huge weight change if it fell off. When man knows how to live dangerously, he is not afraid to die. I've seen a guy with a hip holster and he had a picture of him inthe air from a jump with it still on his hip. But that connected to the bike sound like a good idea what about putting it in the seat? Aren't those compartments?Comment

You could securely mount a holster on your front number plate. You could be pinned in 5th when you see some tweaker up in the distance, pull in the clutch, clamp on the back brake and reach forward and draw your pistol before you slid to a stop... Get a tankbag. I would not carry the gun with a round in the chamber. If you crash, you don't want to shoot yourself or someone else.*
