    J frame trigger pull

Has anyone installed this kit in their J frame? If so, did it make a big difference with trigger pull?

Reduced mainspring pressure may give light primer strikes on certain ammo brands. Meaning unreliable ignition. Just a warning.

I haven't tried the Apex kit but I do know that just replacing the return slide spring can make a big difference in trigger pull weight. Two or pounds in my experience. I replace the mainspring to reduce "stacking" more than to reduce trigger pull weight. I use a standard power Wolff mainspring with a 15# return slide spring (stock is 18#) in my L-frame revolvers and my triggers hover right around 8.5 to 9 lbs.

I'll bet that Apex added a longer firing pin to help with ignition.

Thanks. I see they send a longer firing pin. From what I have read, Apex Tactical guys are super pros at gunsmithing and also shooting.

Thanks. You are correct, they do send a longer firing pin with the kit.

How ironic - "Unreliable Ignition" is one of my stage names.

I had the Apex J-frame Duty/Carry kit installed by Scott @ Apex today. I'm very pleased the result. The trigger went from being okay to being superb. I hope to shoot it tomorrow.
