I picked up my new GEN 4 G21 w/Trijicons today, and got to sneak out for a quick range session.
The first 50rds fired were Winchester Ranger T 230gr +P (RA45TP), followed by 50rds of Federal Champion & 100rds of WWB. Every single round functioned flawlessly. I even tried my absolute hardest to limp wrist an entire magazine worth, but I couldn't get it to fail. It ran exactly like you'd expect a Glock to. I know 200rds isn't much, but it's better than average for a 1st range trip.
There is a definite decrease in recoil compared to my G21SF. Nothing crazy, but noticeable. Without actually having it there to compare side by side, the GEN 4 G21 seemed to recoil less than my G30SF, which recoiled less than my G21SF. The accuracy was also on par with my other Glocks, maybe better. All things considered, grip texture/recoil system/mag release, I feel like I shoot it better than any Glock I have ever owned. The trigger was not as stiff & gritty as some have experienced with GEN 4's. It felt smoother and lighter than my G21SF & G20SF triggers.
The GEN4 G21 is my new favorite Glock (G30SF previously), and I don't see anything changing that. This thing is everything I hoped it would be & more. I'll probably end up buying another one before the year is over.
BIG thanks to Ed's Public Safety, and Nick's Gunworks in Lodi.
