Got it last week and shot 100 rounds through it Sunday. Went to clean it and no real problems. It did seem that the front of the cylinder was pretty tough to do though. Used a wire gun brush ans some solvent. The rest was pretty easy. Is the front of the cylinder usually the toughest part? Maybe I just need more solvent, time and elbow grease. Thoughts? Tips? Bud

The front of the cylinder (It has a proper name that escapes me at the moment) and the forcing cone area need to be clean but some discoloration is normal. A Birchwood Casey lead remover cloth will make it shiny again.
I just scrub with a nylon brush & Hoppes. Carbon buildup in the CB gap can bind up the cylinder.
OK, OK. I DID scrub the front of my 686 cylinder the other day just to see. Looks like new."He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.

You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
