Fun if you reload, otherwise ammo is a pain in the ***. With the compensator it does not kick all that much more than the regular .45 acp.
Yes, I am an electrical engineer.
No, I will not fix your computer.

      It's also good exercise.

      24 lb spring.

I am all set up on my Dillion to do 45acp. Do you know what it takes to reload these?

          460 Rowland

          Kick *** 1911 round

Pain in the *** to clean with my 24 pound spring.

Mine was custom Gunsmith Fit and well worth the money.

My firing pin hole was a little oversize on my 1911.

Pistol would blow a hole in the primer pocket with the 460.

Had a gunsmith install a firing pin bushing, works great.

Only thing I don't like is the COMP, ie, too much flash in low light shooting.

Love that you cannot fire the 460 Rowland in an un-modified pistol.

          My back up pig gun.

As far as reloading, you use your same 45 acp setup, and adjust (proportion) the correct amount of correct powder.

The 460 Rowland is the same OAL as the 45 ACP

The 454 is a terrible thing, the 460 S&W is worse.

The 460 Rowland is a wonderful thing. 44 Mag power in a nice slim package.

I have a 44 DE, but I can get the same ballistics out of a 1911. If it weren't for the 50 barrel I'd probably sell the Eagle. Of course, I also have a 500. hmmmm,,, anybody need a DE?

Important!!!!!!!!!!!! You have to get the comp pinned due to Ca ASW laws.

I've been looking at the 460 Rowland for awhile and really like the round. But I own RIA 1911s (and love them)...... So Its on the back burner, unless I pick up a Colt and Springfield 1911 in the near future...

I'm curious: Why not an RIA? I have one (much modified by me) and can't think of anything that would disqualify mine from this conversion.

I have a Norinco I've been wanting to try this on but everybody I talk to says it beats your gun to death. Is this true?

There is a list of suitable frames for this beast. Soft(er) steel and polymer don't make the list yet. Glock rumors swirl to the surface on occasion.

They are your fingers, do whatever feels right.

I have an RIA 1911 tactical, I called about the conversion and they said the frame will not hold up because it is not forged.

I decided I was going to buy a blank slide and build my own. That way I can build it the way I want over time. All I have to do is pull out the slide lock and I can have the 460.

I've fired one. It's a beast, but &#$* accurate. Good fun!

Ditto the reloading. You're gonna need to.

I'm not really into exotic calibers but I would consider one.

                              ?

What does the slide have to do with it?
