One of the hardest parts of selling stuff for me is jumping through the hoops to get something sold. Some things sell themselves but there are many things I'd rather be doing then waiting for a sale item to get a bite. I'm not a salesperson by any means.

That's what I do. If I decide a gun is not what I want then I put in in the next auction.

I only sell guns to buy other guns. I have been buying and selling for the past 4-5 years and have amassed a collection of over 30 guns, over 80% of which are off list s&w and Dan wesson revolvers.
I am pretty set/happy with what I have now and have a hard time finding one I could sell to buy something else. But it the right s&w came along and I needed the money I would probably sell my freedom arms 252. Could get good amour of money for it and would be able to buy the 646/58/547/520 that I am dying to find right now.

When I first started buying guns most of mine were lower cost than they are now. But ever gun I sold I would add money and get s gun worth more.

Most of the ones I don't use end up getting sold, got rid of some wish I would of kept. I'm down to the ones I'm going to keep.

I went through that too. I hadnt bought a gun since 2000. Then bout a year 1/2 ago, I decided that my colt 1911s were so valuable,I needed to get new shooters (to keep the miles off my 4 colts). So I bought a 220 sig. Then I sold my Ruger 44 Bisley, and replaced it with a S&W 629 Magna Classic. Next to go was the Ruger Blackhawk 30 carbine and the 357. Replaced these with a S&W Model 14 and a 15. Next to go was the Ruger MKII, Replaced with two S&W model 41s. All were great upgrades,no regrets....I bump for quality.Whats next (Les Bear?)

I have a Sig Sauer P232 (.380 APC). It's a fine piece of firearms machinery: stainless steel throughout. It's my "better to have something than nothing" carry. But it's just not high on my list to take to the range so I fire it the least—just to stay competent—the sldie bite people with big hands. Not me but I want to hold it right anyway. Plus the .380 drops off fast. Not selling it though—not at all.

Less favorite guns are perfect for your emergency bug out bags or for placing around the house for quick defense (assuming you don't have kids).

I was reading an article where ideally you'd be within 3 seconds of a gun at your business at all times. I suspect being at home would buy you more time. So let's say 5 seconds. That's a lot of guns hidden around the home. Use those less favorites for placing strategically around.

I have a bug out bag in my car and one in my house. The one in the house is for armageddon and can go indefinitely. The one in my car is for short term emergencies for up to 4 days. Assuming you may not have time to grab extra stuff on your way out, it's better to have a gun that isn't your favorite inside of the bag than no gun at all. Put one empty gun in each bag and lock the compartment it's in. If you have more time to prepare before bugging out, you can always switch out the weapons to your favorites. But if you don't have the time, something is better than nothing.
