    No Sig Equinox in 9mm

I was fortunate enough to get to shoot a Sig 229 Equinox in .40 S&W. I fell in love with it...great features, great shooting and great looks. I go the local gun store to see what they are asking for one in 9mm.

To my surprise, Sig does not offer the Equinox in a 9mm version. They only make this model in .40 & .45. I don't want to have to start stocking another caliber of ammo. I guess I might have to start looking at a few other Sig models. It's a bummer because the Equinox looks awesome!!

If you're the gentleman I talked to in Rancho today, I said they do make one, but CA say's we can't have it.

If you're not that guy, then don't mind my ravings

            Anyway...The roster strikes again!!

9mm is a fine round, good hits on target matter more then the size of the bullet.

Let me clear a few things up...

I got to shoot the 229 Equinox in .40. I was actually looking for the P226 Equinox in 9mm. I did not clarify that correctly in my original post.

Sig does not show a 9mm Equinox on their website, either in the P226 or P229.

Gunbroker does have a few 9mm P229 Equinox's for sale. However, the 9mm Equinox is NOT on the roster in either P226 or P229.

If I am incorrect...which I hope I am. Please let me know where I can find a P226 Equinox in 9mm that I would be able to acquire in CA.

you can always get a p226 equinox in .40 then get a bar-sto 9mm barrel conversion. from what i have seen you can even run the .40 recoil spring and mags with a 9mm.

if i dont find someone to trade my p226 equinox for a p229 ill go and get a barsto 9mm barrel

To get around the neutering roster:

Read this thread on Single Shot Exemption (read the whole thing)

Find a few 07 FFLs in your area, call them up, and see if they can help you.

Buy one, have it shipped to Valkyrie Arms, fill out paperwork, pick up in 10 days, go shooting.

Note of advice: MANY MANY MANY models that are produced by a manufacturer now or in the past as an "unusual" variant, don't make it to their catalogues and therefore don't make it to their websites.

As an example: Try to find a detailed listing on the variants of the Beretta 92FS. Between Inox, brigadier slides, Elite, Elite Ia, Elite I, Elite II, vertec, various aniversary/special editions, you'd be hard pressed to find every variant listed somewhere, let alone on their website (it's actually worse with beretta, because they practically RetCon their website when a model is no longer produced.)

The 9mm equinox CAN be had, you just gotta hunt for it. So... Hunt on!!! and good luck.

For everyone who posted in this thread...I called Sig this morning and spoke to their customer service. According to Sig, they do NOT make a P226 Equinox in 9mm. The guy I spoke with was unsure if they used to make one but currently they do not.

One member posted a P229 Equinox in 9mm on gunbroker but that is not what I want.

Now I just have to decide if I want to add another caliber to my stockpile or just go with the BTFO. Decisions, Decisions....
