    Noisy glock

Got a glock 17 and notice that when it is not cocked, its super noisy cause the pin really rattles back and forth. Is this normal? Did I mess it up by dry firing

Glocks are rattle buckets by design. If it didn't sound lose and cheap then I would be worried. Dry fire away, most people dry fire without a snap cap but if it makes you feel better get a few.

As far as the noise; not sure I will check my glock when I get home. I do know that if you dryfire once in a while it's ok. Just don't make a habit of it. I have dryfired mine for years and have had zero

My girlfriend's gen 3 g19 rattles and my dad's gen 2 g23 rattles. They both shoot great, no stoppages of any kind ever.

That's just the striker. It has a bit of room to move around when it's not cocked. Perfectly normal. Dry fire is good!

Hig, my Glock does the same thing and I have dry fired mine at least 1000 times, it was like that before i started dry firing. no problems at all so far.

For those of you who saltwater fish, you can replace the word 'Glocks' in the above statement with 'Newells' and it would still be a true statement.

Newells are the Glocks of fishing reels.

                  This/\...

Field strip your Glock, and remove the barrel from the slide.

Point the muzzle end down, depress the firing pin safety plunger. The firing pin/striker should now be slightly sticking out of the breech face.

Point the muzzle end up, depress the firing pin safety plunger. The firing pin/striker should go back into the slide.

During this firing pin safety check, you'll notice the striker travels a little inside the firing pin channel.

You may also experience intermittent rattling of loaded Glock magazines, which is also completely normal.

You're suppose to hear the striker move around when it isn't cocked, when you don't you better clean that sucker out and leave it dry.

Its a good thing. When the striker stops rattling, its time to clean it out.
