this might be kind of a long shot considering these are two TOTALLY different guns but i would like a few peoples opinions. (good or bad) I was pretty set about a week ago on the SR9c since ive always wanted a compact 9mm. At the other end, i was at a shooting range the other night and got to hold the Sig 2022 and it felt great in my hand and looks pretty good as well. I have been trying to find reviews on the sig but it seems like all the people comenting on the gun are Sig owners that own their "high end" guns, and they all bash it because of their polymer frame and price saying "its not a real sig" so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ruger SR9c vs Sig sp2022

I have an SR9c And love it... Has been flawless since day one, the trigger is nice, and the slim grip really fits my hand like a glove. I've never shot a Sp2022 but have handled one before and I really liked it.
Have you held or shot an SR9c? I suggest you do that before you make your decision. You say the Sig felt great in your hand, so I would believe that would be more suited toward you if you prefer it over the Ruger... -
If you don't mind having a lot of annoying safety features on your weapon check out the Ruger. I have a 22/45 .22 and I can't stand the plastic LCI sticking out the side of the barrel when it's loaded. If you can trust yourself and use simple safe gun handling techniques, then you will be good to go with the sig. Both are good guns. I personally have not shot a sp2022, but I own a sig P6 and it's been a quality firearm.
Hope that helps.

I own an SR9C as my main carry weapon, and I like it very much. I can't speak to the Sig 2022 unfortunately, not having fired one, but ultimately you should buy what's best for you.
Try to shoot both of them before you decide. I was set on buying a M&P 40, but then got to shoot one, in addition to a Sig .40, XDm .40, and Glock .40. They were all great, but I just thought the Glock felt best in my hand. That's now the next gun on my list.MSGT, USAF Ret.

I can vouch for the SP2022. The one I owned worked flawlessly during my entire ownership. I personally shot it better than any P-Series Sig or any other premium guns in the similar class (H&Ks) - which I've owned.
My only complaint about the gun is that its easy to ride the slide catch if you have medium to large hands (this is true for most Sigs though) and the decocker I find a bit obtrusive. Mine dug into my palms when I shot it unlike other decockers I've dealt with.
The gun has arguably the best DA/SA action right out of the box for a stock model (as far as Sigs and H&Ks go).
Most people who dislike it either can't get past their metal-snobbery or got a Turner turd. I can understand some being more neutral about it if the gun simply doesn't fit them.Comment

SP2022 is a great gun, designed for a .40 round, reliable, accurate and has by far the best trigger of any DA/SA I've ever owned or shot. I have one in. 40, with .357Sig and 9mm barrels for it and am not selling it. It is actually going to be one of my carry guns on the permit (when I get it), together with USPc .357Sig.

The Ruger has a much better reputation when it comes to being reliable. Handgun of the year two years ago I believe.Comment

I carry the 2022 in .40 and am very happy with it. I've held the SR9 but not fired it. I'm waiting for the SR40c! Getting back to the 2022--grip, accuracy, trigger(da and sa) and reliability are top notch. The bad--weight and felt recoil. Its heavy for a poly gun and it kicks compared to other polys.Comment

If you had to pick one out of the .357 or .40 what one would it be ?SP2022 is a great gun, designed for a .40 round, reliable, accurate and has by far the best trigger of any DA/SA I've ever owned or shot. I'd say they are both good choices. If you can shoot them both. The other thing to consider is price. Sigs tend to be higher priced but the Ruger is a decent price around $400 (depending where you shop).
Sounds like you might be leaning towards the sig given you liked the feel of it when you held it.
My 2 cents, they are both good firearms. Just have to weigh what features, size, etc. you want.

Non expert here but I recently got to shoot a p226, a p229 and a p2022 at the same time and I remember loving the trigger on the 2022 better, and I could also hit my targets better, but thats just me..Comment
