looking to get my first 1911

I'm looking to get my first 1911. I've looked at RIA but i'm not a fan of all black 1911s. Idk there is just something about the stainless steel look that appeals to me. I'd love to get a kimber but most of them are out of my price range. Does anyone know what's Kimber's lower end/cheapest 1911? For my first should i just go with RIA since they're around $500? Other?

I think you should just save up some money and get a non black springfield. Your not going to find a new kimber anywhere near 500 bucks and looking for the "cheapest" isn't a great idea when it comes to 1911's.

Good luck finding a stainless 1911 anything for $500. Personally I went with the RIA Tactical and I love it! Best bang for the buck 1911 IMHO.

Some RIA's are nice but if I were you I'll save up some more and buy a Kimber or SA.

I say go with a springfield. They are great guns and a great company with excellent customer service. Spend a little more and you get more.

If your price range is $500 then get the RIA. If higher, then go with Springfield.

You most definatly get what you pay for with 1911s. An inexpensive gun will wind up costing you alot more in the long run when you go to add good sights, a nice beaver tail, ect..

A Smith & Wesson SW1911, Kimber, or Springfield will cost more up front but will save you money in the long run. I'd start with a Springfield Mil-Spec, Buds has the stainless for $620.

The Stainless Steel Mil-Spec is built on a full-size frame and slide. The pistol is made from stainless steel, which has a polished finish on the flat surfaces and bead-b

I would definitely recommend putting in a couple more hundred dollars to get a slightly higher-line model. A Springfield stainless entry-level model would be great. A Kimber would be better. Used Kimber's get snatched up pretty fast and I don't see many of them for sale at good prices.

I was not so satisfied with a railed SW1911 that I bought brand new. Quality, fit, and finish was nowhere close to the Kimber that I bought for the same price, and was actually somewhat bad.
