A friend wants to sell a LNIB 6inch blue python. Looks unfired.Original box and all the papers. Has after market front and rear sights.ORIGINAL SIGHTS CAN BE PUT ON. They are in the box. The gun is in EAST BAY.
He does not want to make a big deal with this sale.
What is Your opinion is FAIR SELLING PRICE for a quick and easy hassle free local sale?

He DOES NOT NEED THE MONEY and does not have to sell at all.
Just does not need it for anything. This one is way too nice to shoot.

You have 20iTrader ratings so I am surprised you don't know how it works... Go to marketplace and search for Pythons and look at old threads. Discretely and respectfully PM to ask the ones who've actually sold Pythons on this forum and ask their sold prices. Some will tell you, depends on how you ask them. But posting this thread here is just opening yourself up for a whole bunch of flipant answers.

Personally, I have seen that snake go from $1200 to $1600 with some sort of incompleteness. For an unfired gun with all docs and box I've seen some asked for north of $2000. Those remained unsold though... If I was to buy such a gun at this time, I'd be open to buy this gun at this time, I'd be inclined to pay at least $1500 for it.

how about this, i was never a revolver man. until i've own and shot my 1st revolver, which is a python.

now i truly appreciate a fine revolver, and my next large caliber HG will probably be a MR73 or S&W627Vcomp, or a SAA in .357.

I would suspect, given that the original owner swapped out the sights, it is not an unfired gun. I have a blued S&W revolver that I have put several thousand rounds through and it is only now starting to have a distinct turn line.

Why a Python? I always thought my well broken in Smith revolver had a nice trigger until I tried a friend's Python; definitely a difference in the design and attention to assembly.

Ya... that's a good estimate.

However, would depend greatly on the year.

To the OP: ap3572001... can we get an indication of the serial number?

I.E. Doesn't have to be the entire number, but the first 2 digits and use 'X'
for any remaining digits... also letter and where letter is located example;
E45XXX or 45XXXE... some have 2 letters, or some have no letter at all.

IMHO the Colt Python is the holy grail of revolvers. Unfortunately, I like to use my guns. Even my uncle's 1911 is shot every so often. My revolvers play a more important role in the use as a family home defense weapon. Everybody in my family logs in practice time on my S&W 27-2. you can really focus on accuracy with the revolver when dealing with occasional shooters. I would love to own an example of this country's finest handgun, but I can settle for a "experienced" version.
