Heading to my first gun show today. What to expect? Also wondering if everyone selling is legit or are any scam artists there? Looking to pick up a cheap CZ 75 or possibly a Hi-Power.

Gun shows are geared towards people that "try" to save a few pennies. As such, you'll only find mediocre quality parts (UTG, NcStar, Tapco, ATI etc....) with a few high quality parts vendors thrown into the fray.
On a side note, Del Mar Fairgrounds is also hosting the ROC (Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge) Kinda like the Wipout TV show. Expect to see lots of kooky dressed charactersMagPul MPLA

You ever cleaned out that old junk drawer and found something cool. Well multiply that by a few thousand square feet and you have the del mar gun show. Been going since i was a kid an it has really turned into a junk sale with a few deals here and there.Comment

Is that what they were up to? I was really wondering... My best guess was some kind of whacked out roller derby. There were some wacky costumes (including a team dressed like that animated movie The Incredibles, and a team in luchadores masks.)
If anybody is going tomorrow, pop by the Calguns booth and say hello!

Also went today and it seemed to be "mostly" geared towards rifles/AR-building.
As for kooky characters....the best one of all was the traffic control/security guy in front of the ticket booth yelling at people to get out of the street.

been going for a few years myself, bargains are hard to find if any, in fact I looked at a knife today, one that I've had my eye on for a while. I knew what the price should be, but when the vendor quoted me a price that was $50 more than retail, I just said thanks and kept on walking....starting to wonder if the show is worth the $20 is costs to get in and park!Comment

I went to the last costa mesa show and I thought it was pretty cool. It was really crowded and trying to get up to the ammo stores was next to imposible but all in all really liked it. I hear its coming back in a couple weeks or so I may go back if I get the chance.Comment

I passed on DelMar wanted to buy powder but last time there selection wasn't all that great, figured if I have to pay parking and admission may as well pay hazmat and get what I want. Plus no gas...US Navy Retired, NRA Lifetime member. Member CRPA
