Reason I ask is because my case that my EMP came in said something like "not legal in California" or something like that.

could be model number and could be as simple as color
the roster is very easy to check whats on it http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/ just looked 9mm is there dont see the .40 thoe

I had to sell one of my kids to get it (a couple of months ago).

The 9mm is on the list, the .40 is not. So the answer is yes/no.

And the 9mm EMP has an alloy frame, the 40 has a steel frame. I have thee 9, a friend wanted the same but in 40 - he finagled one and got an extra 8 oz or so surprise ....

Got mine in 9mm and it is an awesome gun. Pricey yes but the quality is very good. I will never sell it.

They are legal to own. You just can't carry it, or keep it loaded in areas where it is most needed. You have to make sure it is locked up where you can't get to it if you need to use it. But the good news is you can still own one for now.

EMP=awesome. I have had mine a couple weeks.

I did not know the EMP40 wasn't on the roster though, I could have sworn that they had one where I got mine

EMP40 is not on the roster & the G10 VZ EMP 9 is not on the list, shops put them on the shelves & sell them to LEO's, BullsEye in SR had a EMP 9 that was not on the roster because of the factory VZ G10 grips! Kali is so screwed up....

or go to a great shop like Valkyrie Arms in Milpitas & single shot the gun your jonesing to get like I did
