I'm not looking to competitively shoot but I'd like to do some accurate shooting with my Glock 21 at the range. I was thinking of a 6" barrel but there seem to be a lot of replacements with similar numbers. Also, how necessary is sending in the slide to have it matched and would that limit my ability to use the stock barrel?

Factory barrel is probably more accurate than you are. No offense.Comment

Ditto. The factory barrel is excellent. A longer barrel does not equal accuracy.-A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.*

Check out Barsto barrels. They make one of the most accurate after market barrel available. Their barrels are used my many of the top shooters in the country.Comment

You can borrow my G19 if we are the range together. The barrel is plenty accurate in this gun and she is stock. I can cover 3 shots with a quarter at 7 yards, after that it opens up to about a 2" group. The gun can do it all day but I have a hard time shooting slow and deliberate. I shoot quick most of the time.sigpicComment

Maybe the OP wants to shoot Bullseye matches

On an average day I shot 10 rounds in a 4" group at 25 yards standing unsupported with my Glock 34 and Ranger-T, I think I would have benefitted from a fitted Bar-Sto. Especially since I've shot smaller groups with my Les Baer.
Here's one I knocked out with the G34 before I put it up for sale, it had about 13,000+ rounds thru it:

So with a more accurate barrel like a Barsto I wouldn't improve at all...I don't think I buy that. I'm getting better and I'm certainly not that great but I don't see the harm in going better...I'm just trying to figure out what the good buys are.CRPA member

Pretty much sums it up for me. Nothing will improve the accuracy of a Glock. Don't even ask about precision please. J/k.Comment

I guess I should have said precise and accurate. I didn't even think about the trigger. Are you thinking a different trigger design or lighter pull?CRPA member

You can get pretty fancy with triggers (http://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=156277)
but I think its overkill. Just get a lighter connector and spring combo. Dry-fire, range, or polish to wear the trigger down a little and you're good.Comment
