    Pistol Hunt

Has anyone actually used any of their pistols for hunting or would you? Largest caliber I have is a .45 and that is probably not enough for medium game.

I've done quite a bit of handgun hunting. Have taken elk, wild pigs, and small game.
I use a Buckmark for rabbits and ground squirrels, a .454 Casull for wild pigs, deer, and elk. I have a couple .44 mags, but haven't shot anything with them. Also have a Contender in 6.8 SPC that I want to try for longer range deer hunting.

I have used my Heritage Arms .22 for rabbit and squirrel, and using the Contender in .223 for pig/coyote, and waiting on my Burris scope (next week) for the 30/30 so I can sight that in for deer season.

I've use all the centerfire pistol and revolver cartridges for everything from yotes on down. The 10mm for deer, and the 44 mag for hogs. I personally like the 9x25 Dillon for varmints. Never did an elk or bear with a handgun.
