    They did it again.....

I read a while ago where the store (rhymes with Burner's) was not able to produce a gun after the 10 day wait. Well, it happened to me today. Went in to pick up my CZ P-01 today (that they had to bring in from another store). Funny thing, I forgot that the 10 days is to the exact minute. I arrived at (Burner's) at around 2:30 and my pick up wasn't allowed until 3:16. Oh well, I surely could keep myself busy for 45 minutes looking at more stuff and adding more to my wish list. I set the alarm on my phone and when it went off, handed my paper work over and started to salivate. A couple minutes went by and he came back and informed me that my gun hadn't come in yet. How long does it take to transport a gun across town to another store? Well, I expressed my dissappointment but did not give any ****e to the guy because it wasn't his fault. He told me he was so sorry and he would take this matter to the manager and try to make it right with a free box of ammo or something. He told me it should be there on Thursday.

45 minutes of anticipation only to be kicked in the marbles. Oh well, whatcha ya gonna do? It is the state we have chosen to live in......

I bought a Glock 19 with night sights at the San Bernardino location, they didn't have it in stock at that store but did at the Fountain Valley store, no problem they would transfer it in for me. I waited my 10 days (I think it might have been the 11th day before I actually went to get it) and showed up to no gun. It was a Monday and they said it wouldn't actually be there with their other transfers until Tuesday. Nobody bothered to call me to tell me or anything. To make matters worse, when I went back on Tuesday it still wasn't there. I had to wait until Wednesday.

Why can't you just say Turner's?

They said they would call me on Thursday. We shall see. The bummer is, I am going out of town for a week on Friday. If it is not there Thurs, I will have to wait a whole nother week. Then I will have to camp out on the Wait Support Group Thread.....

What does the state have to do with the bad experience you had at turner's?
I use an handful of reputable, family owned gun shops in the greater LA area and none of them have let me down or have idiotic rules (like not being able to have handed the buyers money for a PPT sale inside the store) like turner's does.
I don't do business with turner for all those reasons.
Use your local, family owned gun store.

I have nought several guns from Turner's, including my first ever hand gun (XD40) a few years ago. I have always had a great experience. They are the only ones that had a CZ P-01 in one of their stores. I am not really baggin on them. ...It happens, right? I made the CA comment because of the 10 day anxiety attack we must endure. I will not let this keep me from giving most of my business to them. They are actually less expensive than most other local shops. My CZ P-01 was $599, $40 less than my other local shops. Plus no one else could get one right now while I have $$ burning a hole in my pocket.

They don't run the dros (including serial #) right then and there when you buy?

Yea, but they can have the serial number before having the gun in the story.

Generally I have good luck at Turners Orange.. although I prefer giving money to smaller "mom and pop" stores like Riflegear. Turners has huge buying power and some of thier sales are too good to ignore (like the $1300 USC I just bought)

Yes. He called the other store and got the serial # and we started the DROS. I didn't think anything of it. Like I said, I have had only good experiences with Turners in the past. This is not a deal breaker between me and them. I am fairly new to CG and don't post much, but read alot. Just thought I'd vent a little.

Why do people even bother to do business with Turner's.
For the past many many years, I've gone with RifleGear in Costa Mesa and OCArmory in Laguna.
