What 1911 Magazines are people using?

So I ordered my first 1911 (Sig SS with rail) and waiting out the 10 days. I have 2 questions:

    1) What mags are you guys running (Chip, Tripp, Wilson, etc)?

    2) What brand mag well should I pick up?

    Thanks in advance!

I use only Wilson mags. I have never had a problem with them. Most issues with 1911 are bad mags.

      I use brownells mag well.

My favorite mags are Wilson Combat. They have a shaped plastic follower that makes loading easier and they don't cause malfunctions. I also have a couple Chip McCormick 10-Rd Power Mags that work well, but have the traditional flat follower.

My magwell is the slip-on Wilson Combat model. The only thing I am not crazy about is that the finish is gloss blued. Where as all their other parts are flat black (but called blued on the label). I am not sure why they do that but they do. It looks good, just wasn't expecting it. It works great and was super easy to install. Just remove the grips, slip it on, and reinstall the grips. One bonus is that it looks good with both traditional cut grips and magwell cut grips. That is because it doesn't protrude way out there like a lot of the magwell's do.

If you plan on adding any extended controls get Wilson Combat as well. I tried a JTM extended slide catch and it was nightmarishly out of spec. No matter how much I tried to "fit" it, it wasn't going to happen. Scratched up my finish as well. I ordered one from Wilson Combat and dropped right in and fit as well as functioned perfectly without any fitting. There are a lot of brands out there selling 1911 stuff, Wilson has thus far been the easiest to install and functions flawlessly for me.

Not the best pictures...but you can at least see what I am talking about.

I use chip mccormick 10 rounders, but have been using 8 rnd wilsons as well. Keeps me from burning through ammo as quickly.

Mostly McCormick, with some Colts and Springfields. I changed out all the followers to Wilson though. Much more reliable, and easier to reassemble than McCormick's followers.

The Nighthawk Custom mags that came with my Predator. They work fine.

Checkmate and Mec-Gar. Haven't had any issue with either one.
