    30 days between handgun purchase?

I know its a well known fact and law that we need to wait 30 days between handgun purchases, but im not exactly clear on when that 30 day period starts. according to california penal code 12072 it states "(9) (A) No person shall make an application to purchase more than one handgun within any 30-day period."

this seems to be implying that the 30 day waiting period starts the day of the dros background check, rather than the day the dros ends. anyone know exactly?

      DROS to DROS.

im just curious, have you actually purchased a handgun exactly 30 days after starting the dros on another handgun and gotten it approved by the DOJ?

thats what it sounds like from the wording of that law, but im not sure if i will be able to convince my FFL dealer.

          lol

im hoping someone here has actually purchased handguns 30 days after the initial dros and had it approved by the DOJ. if thats the case, maybe i can tell my FFL dealer to try it, and if it gets denied then im out money, and il have to dros it again.

I have purchased a handgun the 31'st day just to be safe and it was not an issue. You may purchase more than one handgun every 30 days as Private Party Transfers are exempt from that law.

You should not have to convince him he should know the law. Even if you did it on the 29'th day the only thing that would happen is the FFL will get a call stating that you purchased a handgun within the 30 days and you are not eligible to purchase one at that time.

Yes 31 days after the initial DROS started. You DO NOT have to wait 30 days after you pick up the gun to start a new DROS.

Yea no problem. If he wants have him call the DOJ and ask for himself.
