replacing serialized parts?

Hi, I have a Bersa Thunder 9mm UC, matte black, and I am considering buying some nickel parts to customize the gun's look more to my liking. I saw the Bersa website offers a nickel barrel for my gun, but I am wondering what the deal is with that since the barrel is serialized. Can I just buy the new barrel and put it in as-is, or am I responsible for having it serialized or what?

you can just replace it. as long as the frame has the serial number on its good ot go.

If you are in the USA, only the serial numbers on the frame matter. Other countrys chose other parts to seralize, so gun manufactures tend to lable all the major parts since they may not know where their gun may end up. So, feel free to replace barrel, no numbers required.

Plus some people when buying guns prefer for it to be "matching numbers" like a classic car. Especially something like a colt. I would keep the original peices somewhere you won't lose them in case you ever want to sell it.

X2. Keep all your serialized parts with the gun. But you can switch out the parts while under your ownership.
