Ruger SR9 owners

Just a FYI for those SR9 owners. I was on the Ruger forum a couple of weeks ago and someone brought up a web sight that makes SR9/40 and SR9c performance parts (http://www.gallowayprecision.com/index.html). I have the 330 series SR9 so I bought the assembled stainless steel guide rod and the SS mag release. When the parts came in I checked them out and found them to be quality parts and put them in my SR9.

The mag release worked good it was much better than the stock plastic one. The guide rod looked great and when I took the gun to the range I felt like I had a little more control and I had much better groups than before with the factory plastic rod. I am thinking about getting the trigger update kit but my only problem is I'm not good with little parts so I might have to get somebody to do the work for me.

Just thought I'd spread the word on some good parts, Redhemi

Dragon, I stayed with the factory rate (18 lb) but acording to the website you can change springs if you want to.

How hard was it to replace the mag release?

Replacing the mag release wasn't to hard. First remove the slide so you can see and easily access the mag latch next take a empty mag and push it into the well to where it just makes contact with the latch but does not lock in the mag. Remove latch pivot pin then slowly remove mag so latch and spring does not pop out and you lose them. Then slide out old thumbpiece and slide in new one. I also like to put a dab of gun grease not oil in the crevice of the thumbpiece. Now reverse process. Use the exploded view in your manual it helps. hope this helps, Redhemi
