    Ruger P95DC Laser/Light Options

Today I purchased a ruger p95dc via PPT. This gun does NOT have a rail for lights like the glock, xd, etc. do. I was wondering what options if any i have for mounting a light/laser combo on it. I would like to steer away from the magazine mounted setup because well, it looks like hell. has anybody mounted one on these P series guns (what threw me off is that Ive seen youtube videos of these guns with rails! wtf?) anyways i cant pick the gun up until the 25th anyways and any help would be appreciated. THANKS!

I have a P89 which is a generation older then yours but still similar.

You can buy Crimson Trace grips and that's about it as far as drop in. For a rail under the dust cover they sale rails made for 1911's & Beretta's that might work. You'd need to drill & tap your frame to go this route & good luck in finding a holster.

thanks for the response. the trace grips are kinda cool, but they are expensive IMO for what they are and the Laser is really just a bonus in a laser/light package. the Ruger will be my go to gun for home defense and i think the light (especially the strobe) would be very effective in blinding anyone trying to hurt myself or my family in the middle of the night. my best friend has a glock 17 with a nice light/laser that slides on and i fell in love with how effective that strobe was, especially in the dark. if i was to go with the aftermarket rail option, couldnt i find a holster that will work when the light is not mounted on the rail?

I agree with the value of having a light but not for your same reasons. I want a light because after the first shot is fired you'll have zero night vision & you'll need 20 minutes to allow your eyes to readjust.

I doubt that anyone makes a off the shelf holster. I'm sure you could have a custom one made.
