Take it to the range and run it to your satisfaction that you will hit your target and it will perform reliably. Then run as much HP ammo as your comfortable spending to also make sure it will perfrom reliably.

my g33 has that locking device. At first I though it sucked! I was not able to install the grip plug I bought because of the locking mechanism. I eventually got over it and now I really like having the lock. I like being able to lock the gun and just drop in in my backpack without needing a gunrug or a case to lock it in.

Doesn't CA law require handguns to be in a locked container regardless of whether the action/trigger/etc is locked?

CA requires a locked container for concealed, unloaded handgun transport.
