Sig Sauer Experts need your input

What are the differences between these two 1911. I've done a tone of research and think they may just be different model years. One says "GSR" on the slide for Granite Series and the other doesn't. Here ya go:

The revolution will have more MIM parts in it, but it is more likely to run better than the GSR. The GSR models often had unusual spec problems which were later corrected.

Just curious, why a 1911 by Sig when there are some many other good choices?

I wondered the same thing. I know the most common answer is "I always wanted a Sig and you can never get enough 1911s..." but I think if you wanna get a Sig, you should just get a gun they're known for. There are plenty of other manufacturers of 1911s that'll either beat Sig's price for the same quality, or quality for the same price.

I owned a Sig GSR for several months. During that time Sig had it for about 4 months trying to figure out what was wrong with it.

I eventually got a refund on the gun. It was a great gun when it worked..............

If I were to buy another 1911, the Sig would be down at the bottom on the list.

I know there are a ton of threads on what 1911 to get, but what would you guys suggest? My budget is roughly $1300 tops. I was considering the SA MC Operator, but not in love with the od green. I've shot my friends Sig nitron finish and my buddies TRP Operator and both were pretty sweet. I personally want a stainless finish with rail and this is all I could find. Any suggestions would be awesome.

glad your happy with her. i have no idea why people bad mouth the sig 1911, its very unique compared to others, the fit and finish on them are outstanding. if sig offered a 9mm version anytime i wont have a second thought about getting another sig 1911.

KIMBERs SHMIMBERs There are just as many horor stories /if not more/ of KIMBERS/
Buy the SIG 1911
avoid the GSR name if you want to be CAUTOUS/ but even GSRs were RUnning Strong last I checked

The initial run of GSR's had some issues that were sorted out and I had one of the sorted out variety until a spectacular failure caused the gun to be replaced by Sig. The replacement is of the Revolution variety and has fed reliably and is a tack driver. I think they are really sweet guns that are hard to beat for the price.
