I'd had Glocks, SIGs,etc., until I caught the "1911 Bug" about 3 yrs. ago. I went in to a local shop & fell in love w/ a S&W 1911. I looked @ the Kimbers, the Colts, theS.A.'s, but something about this one grabbed me by the booboo! Plus, most of the others were around $1.5-2.5K. I walked away w/ the Smith for $950! at the range, I couldn't BELIEVE what a shooter she was & AND the accuracy was beyond any autoloader I'd previously shot. I thought it was just me (being excited w/ my new toy) , so I grabbed 2 friends on the firing line who are "seasoned 1911 afficianados" (they both own several Browns/Kimbers/Wilsons/Colts, you name it-but they had never even held the Smith before since it was relatively "new" @ the time), and after they shot it & found out what I paid for it (at first they didn't believe me!)..........guess what their next purchases were?
